The color swatch I went with complimented the wood tones as well as the wall adjacent to the fireplace. The mixtures of textures and variations of faux and real foliage brings a finished looked to the whole garland.
I also love to mix elements like wood, metal and even stone/concrete. The combination has a classic timeless look I tend to gravitate to, as well as a masculine and feminine blend.
As always, when creating don’t be afraid to bend the rules with colors, textures and placement. Asses your area, figure out what you want to achieve, and figure out your color palette. From there, it’s easier to tackle and makes the process less tedious and overwhelming. Always start with a blank slate, try to stay organized and when it’s time to break everything down-label and keep all things together.
