Last year was our 5 year Anniversary, with literally no idea in mind of what to get my husband I sought out ideas of how to get creative with my gift. After all, what do you get a man that literally has everything OR can get anything.
Then it clicked! National Park Pass! YES! We both have been more intentional with our gift giving and “quality time” has always been the top of our priority list. Looking up on national parks, found the “adventure pass” and great book on national parks, I gifted him the opportunity for us to use it.

Ten months later, we finally were able to use this pass. Figured if we are going to take advantage of this opportunity before the pass expires, lets go local (as local as possible) and hit Joshua Tree.
So I stacked on the options of snacks, clothes to wear and my camera and we jet off to the desert to chase the sun. With minutes to spare, 30-45 minutes..we were able to capture some photos. Photos that definitely are us!
It’s definitely sparked a desire for us to carve more time to plan a trip to visit the bigger parks in the US. Excited to revisit places I remember as a child seeing with my parents. Remember, it only takes one experience to ignite a huge flame of drive! Hope this gets you inspired to explore your backyard.
