Back to Basics + DIY Dog Food

Last year, 2020 was the year I decided to make a change in my dogs food diet. We have a sweet old man name Zeus (13+ years) that loves to eat. Realizing that with his hungry, he always seemed to over eat because he was so unhappy with us. In result, he was super heavy, which you can imagine was horrible on his joints.

Doing a little research online and asking from experts, I started looking into seeing how difficult it was to make your own dog food. I know that there were a few main ingredients that needed to be in the meal, and I started with meat.

From this point on I went on to my list that I’ve given below. [Please remember to always advise with your veterinarian for your pets needs as well as any listed allergies they may be prone to. ] I am sharing my experience from my own personal view point and want to share that if you do want to make your own dog food, it’s so possible. Just takes a little time and organizational planning.

I’m happy to report that Zeus has lost weight and is much more mobile as well as expressive. I almost feel like he has a peep to his step and as much as he still is a bit stiff, he is much more mobile. I am glad I made the switch, I hope he lives his last years a little less pain free and much more happier.

..and heres a small glimpse of my little tribe! They know mama is cooking their chicken for them!
