If you’re like me, I’ve always suffered some form of acne problem. From as long as I remember, my face has seen better days (even now in my 30s), from seeing an actual dermatologist to using every single type of product in the market.
I’ve finally found a sweet spot in my life of what works for my face and what does not–with the help of this amazing woman I’m about to introduce to you. I can’t help but be bias because she’s done amazing things for me, helping me find my beauty with my problematic acne/blemish areas.
With no further a due, I’d like to introduce to you Monique Ruiz.

1. What is it like being an Aesthetician?
I love working in aesthetics. I’m able to connect with women on a personal level and help correct a superficial concern that often has deeper emotional roots. It’s more than beauty on the outside, it’s building confidence and self esteem on the inside and I’m happy to be a part of that.
2. What is the #1 thing that someone would misconstrued about working in this profession of beauty ?
I love this question! lol… I would say it ties into why I love working in aesthetics. While the beauty industry can be misconstrued as vanity and superficial I like to look at it as self love and self care. As women when we feel better about ourselves, when we love our selves enough to pamper and take care of our selves it makes us able to love other people better. Confidence and self love just make us better people period.
3. What sets you apart from the saturated market of Aesthetician?
3.) I try not to pay attention to what everyone else is doing. While I try and keep up on trends and what is relevant in the industry I try not to compare myself to another in the profession. All I can say about myself is in being confident in what I offer ( referring back to question #2) I’m able to be better and be authentic in the services I provide.
4. What is the #1 advice you’d give to any client that looking for someone to have any type of beauty treatment done?
My favorite advice to offer is ” it’s never too late to start taking care of your skin!” There are so many treatment options available for every skin type, concern, and budget. Do your homework! If you are unsure of the procedure and or treatment read up on it and ask questions. I actually tell my clients this (mainly new ones) I’m not offended if they don’t take my word for it ( there goes that confidence) Ask around, google it, make sure it’s the right treatment for you and I’m the right person for the job.
5. What is the craziest encounter you’ve experience as an Aesthetician?
Oh lord… can we please skip this question? Yes, I think we will. I’ll save it for my book haha!
6. What services do you provide and how can any potential client’s get a hold of you and your services?
I provide all things that glitter and shine! but mostly skincare and body treatments, lash extensions, microblading, and the occasional counseling service. You can view my work on Insta @ skin_fluence visit : www.redlandsplasticsurgery.com
