Marinade Tofu + Indonesian Infused

Advertisements

For many years before I was married, I took advantage of the delicious meals I was raised with, home cooked Indonesian cuisine. As I’ve grown older, I’ve found myself wishing I had learned certain dishes sooner, with the ability of one day making them for my own family.

Years later, after being married for 6 years I find myself back in my mother’s kitchen asking a lot of questions like “What is this flavor you use?” or “Where can I find this?” and even “How much of this ingredient do I put?” which always results in an answer of, “Oh you know, mom just doesn’t really measure, I just add everything by taste and by color”. Which always results in, “OH, well that doesn’t help”. This time though I decided that I was going to take notes.

I never understood what kaffir lime leaves did, I finally understood the beauty of the ingredient when I took a bite of one of my mom’s tempura tofu dishes. So one day, I decided I was going to take pictures of items she used. After several attempts, I’m excited to say that this simple dish turned out YUMMMMMMY!

I hope you enjoy it, its not perfect, its not beautiful but its homemade delicious!!!

*Also, stay tune for the sauce, as I realize I did not include the sauce in the the page.
