Stay Inspire + Denim Flare

Lately I’ve been obsessing over iron-on patches, enamel pins and lettering–I think I can contribute to all the creative people I’ve been watching on Instagram (and the fact that I can’t seem to find something I want on my own jacket).

So the hunt started, looking for patches that were feminine but also complementary on a white jacket–everyday wear if possible. I found Merimeri.com with the cutest, fun patches, had tons of color but still simple. Then continued to hunt to find something similar without too much dark bold colors, found the other patches at Joanns and on their online site.

THEN I found these amazing IRON-ON metal studded trimmings, yes its iron-on, no sowing required! The same trick applies to this application as the other rhinestone studded iron-on in a previous post I did. (link below if you’d like to check it out)

Now the MOST trickiest part of all, felt material and iron on–super challenging but very manageable. The trick to it is using a deep cut blade on the green mat! Make sure to iron-on the adhesive to the felt, application later after the felt is cut will make it 10x easier! (I hope that made sense.)

Also, the best part about the lettering is that my dear friend and also Calligrapher customized the words for me and I was able to upload the digital file and use my trusty Cricut machine.

I purchased the adhesive from amazon, here’s the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Y0083K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I later ironed on the patches after figuring out the placement of my felt lettering.

I actually later trimmed the bottom of the jacket, keeping the metal as the trimming for the jacket. It felt a bit long on me, so it all worked out having it cut. I’m hoping to style it later, use it while I’m at a shoot. Also a wonderful reminder to always stay inspired!!
